The Jimny VIN number data plate can be located On the left side of the engine compartment behind the battery riveted to the bulkhead

None on model examined but likly to be on botton right of the windscreen

Stamped Number        
stamped into the rear right hand chassis viewed just behind the rear wheel

Engine Number
Possibly on the left middle of the block above the gear box on petrol versions
