Chassis/VIN Plate
XJS VIN plate is found on the nearside door pillar. On convertible and earlier models the plate is on the nearside inner wing. Visible VIN None on early models Viewed through the nearside base of the front windscreen. Stamped Number Stamped chassis VIN is on the center of the bulkhead. Earlier models have the number stamped by the offside wheel arch. Engine Number 2.9L and 3.6CYL versions have the number on the front offside of the block by the rear of the distributor mounting. 5.3L V12 versions display the number at the rear of the engine. |
