Chassis/VIN Plate         
The XJ6 VIN plate is located on the nearside door pillar. On a plastic label which breaks up if removed.

Visible VIN     
On the nearside base of the front windscreen. Earlier models may display the number on the nearside ‘A’ post.

Stamped Number        
The stamped Chassis number is located on the top of the offside inner wing.

Engine Number
2.9L and 3.6CYL versions have the number on the front offside of the block at the rear of the distributor mounting.
