The plate will either be on the nearside of the bulkhead behind the battery or on the top of the nearside suspension housing. Both are on a metal plate held by two rivets.

Viewed through the nearside base of the front windscreen. Number is embossed on a silver strip. 
Stamped Chassis Number
Stamped onto the centre of the bulkhead displaying cross/square security markings at both ends of the number. 
Engine Number
On the offside front of the block on a horizontal cast lug adjacent to the exhaust manifold. |
