Infiniti is the luxury vehicle division of the Japanese automaker Nissan. The brand was first established in 1989, with the goal of providing a luxury vehicle option for Nissan customers.
The first Infiniti model, the Q45, was introduced in 1990 as a 1991 model. It was a full-size luxury car that was well-received by critics and buyers alike. Other early Infiniti models included the M30 coupe, the G20 compact luxury car, and the J30 luxury sedan.
In the 2000s, Infiniti expanded its lineup with the introduction of several new models, including the G35 sport sedan, the FX luxury crossover, and the QX56 full-size SUV. The brand also began to expand its presence in global markets during this time, opening new dealerships in Europe and Asia.
In recent years, Infiniti has focused on developing new technologies, including hybrid and electric powertrains, and introducing new models, such as the Q50 and Q60 sport sedans, the QX50 and QX60 crossover SUVs, and the QX80 full-size SUV.
In 2020 Nissan announced the rebranding of Infiniti to INFINITI, with the new name and design as a strategy to target customers in the premium and ultra-premium market.
As of today, the company is working on the development of new technologies such as electric cars, autonomous driving and keeps expanding the range of models it offers.
