Cadillac Models & VIN Number Locations

Home
For modern Cadillac cars the most popular places to find the VIN number on Cadillac cars are:
Next to spare wheel,
On the B post door post
On the bulkhead/ firewall,
Under or next to passenger seat
On the bottom corner of the windscreen

VIN Number Locations on Older Cadillac Vehicles For Cadillac vehicles manufactured before the implementation of the standardized 17-digit VIN in 1981, the VIN (often referred to as the serial number) can be found in several locations:

1960s Cadillacs
  • Driver's Side Door Jamb: A plastic-laminated tag riveted to the door jamb at the bottom of the driver's side door contains the serial number.
  • Engine Block: Stamped on the left side of the engine block between the welch plugs above the oil pan.
  • Frame: Stamped into the top left frame support next to the radiator support and enclosed in asterisks.
1950s Cadillacs
  • Engine Block: The VIN is often stamped on the left side of the engine block, just above the oil pan
  • Frame: Look for the VIN stamped on the left frame rail near the front of the vehicle.
  • Driver's Side Door Jamb: A metal plate riveted to the driver's side door jamb may display the VIN.
Note: The exact location can vary depending on the specific model and year. It's advisable to consult the owner's manual or a service manual for precise information.
