• ​1950 - Stamped on a plate attached to the left front door pillar. The number is also stamped near the front of the left frame side rail, or on the left frame cross member extension.
  
  
• 1951 - Stamped on a plate attached to the left front door pillar. The VIN number is also stamped near the front of the left frame side rail.
  
  
• 1952 - 1953 - Stamped on a plate attached to the left front door pillar. The number is also stamped on the left frame side rail near the master cylinder.
  
  
• 1954 - 1956 - Stamped on a plate attached to the left front door pillar.

• 1957 - 1965 - Stamped on a plate attached to the left front door pillar. The number is also stamped on the engine block, just ahead of the left push rod cover. (1957 was the first year that vehicle serial and engine numbers were identical.)

Left Front Door Pillar: A plate attached to the left front door pillar displays the serial number. 

​Engine Block: The engine number is stamped on a pad just ahead of the left push rod cover.

1970's Buick VIN & frame Number locations 

Dashboard: Starting in the late 1960s and into the 1970s, the VIN plate was commonly located on the driver's side dashboard, visible through the windshield. 

Driver's Side Frame Rail: The VIN is stamped on the outside of the driver side frame rail. Undercoating and corrosion may make it hard to see.
